(Xi Zijun, International Department of CAWA) The Thai Embassy in China entrusted China Agricultural Whosale Market Association (hereinafter referred to as "CAWA") to help publicize the clarified information made by the Fisheries Department of the Thai Ministry of Agriculture on the risk of Thai fish products spreading the novel coronavirus. CAWA has maintained a close contact with the Thai Embassy and the Ministry of Agriculture of Thailand, and is committed to promoting the development of bilateral agricultural products trade and enhancing the confidence of Chinese importers and consumers in the agricultural products of Thailand.

The Thai Embassy held the view that since the outbreak of the pandemic, the spread of the virus has had a huge impact on international trade. The Ministry of Agriculture of Thailand has recently been concerned about the rumor that Thai fish products spread the virus. In response, the Fisheries Department of the Ministry of Agriculture of Thailand, as the national seafood authority, made a clarification against it.

CAWA is willing to work together with Thailand to clarify such industry rumors timely and promote the stable and healthy development of China-Thailand agricultural trade.
