China cuts duty on Kenyan avocado imports to 7 percent

In a move that should ideally help Kenyan farmers benefit from the lucrative Asian market, China has agreed to bring down the import duty on avocados from 30 percent to 7 percent. Trade Principal Secretary Chris Kiptoo says the decision was reached last week following negotiations with the world’s most populous nation.
